Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

We took a short trip up to Santa Barbara and visited the museum of Natural History. Wesley had gone there during school for a field trip, and he thought it would be a fun place for us all to visit. My favorite part was the butterfly greenhouse. There were thousands of butterflies just flying freely around the greenhouse. I have never seen so many kinds in one place; it was pretty! I think the kids most enjoyed the area of "grossology." It explained and had activities relating to burping and other not-so-pleasant things.

A full weekend!

I had to post this picture of Brooke from our vacation. Thanks, Bob, for the creativity in it. We loved it!
Gary and I had our anniversary this past weekend. (Like you, Danielle) I did not take any pictures of our weekend, but we had a great time. We stayed at the Hyatt in Valencia, CA. The kids stayed with friends from church (who have a pool), and they did not miss us one bit. It was funny when we watched a movie---Oceans 13--and the opening scene took place in Valencia, CA. It was funny to see it, as we sat there in a theater in Valencia. We spent some time shopping and eating, and it reminded us of the time that we met Aaron there for dinner. Remember, Aaron????
After we picked up the kids, we took them to the races. We were all worn out Saturday night and slept very well.

Check out my Slide Show!

After landing in Indianapolis, we spent a day in Crawfordsville with some dear friends, Gary and Julie Estep. It was nice to be back in our "old stompin' grounds."

Sturgill family at Jellystone Park

The extended Sturgill family met outside of St. Louis. There were 19 people (11 of them 7 and under), so this made for a crazy time! The kids enjoyed the Magic House, swimming, playing games, making crafts, riding the train and playing with their cousins. The adults enjoyed talking and playing games, once the kids were in bed (and that was sometimes quite a task : ))

Time with Mamaw and Papaw

Most of our time was spent in Princeton, Indiana visiting Mamaw and Papaw Beard. Uncle Bob and Aunt Kari came up for a long weekend too. The kids and I did much relaxing, and Gary got some work done for his parents.

The finished product

Gary's desk is complete, or should I say, nearly complete, and so we wanted to post a picture of it. Doing business at home, he should have an executive looking desk---maybe it will help him think better :)
We got home from our three week vacation last night. After bringing in the luggage, the kids were so happy to find that the tree in our backyard had blossomed. Being our first spring in this home, it was a pleasant surprise.
I will be posting (many) pictures from our vacation, but right now, there are just too many too sort through. Check us out later :)
